Printed medical receipts and statements prepared for an insurance claim

Documents available in English

Insurers differ in what they ask for. These are the documents we can prepare in English for orthodontic treatment at our clinic.

English receipts

Proof of payment for each amount you pay, showing the clinic name, date and amount, issued in English.

Itemized statements

A breakdown of what was charged, such as consultation and records, appliances, adjustment visits and retainers, so your insurer can see each item.

Medical certificates

A formal certificate confirming your diagnosis and the treatment you are receiving, often requested to establish medical necessity.

Doctor's letters

A letter from Dr. Lee describing your condition, treatment plan, appliance and estimated duration, useful for pre-authorization or employer benefits.

How to request your documents

  • Tell us at your first visit that you plan to claim, and which insurer you use.
  • Share your insurer's form or checklist if they have one, including any required diagnosis or procedure codes.
  • Ask in person, by email or on WhatsApp. Email isu.ysbaro@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp .
  • Allow preparation time for letters and certificates, which Dr. Lee reviews herself.

Check with your insurer first

We cannot confirm what your policy covers. Ask your insurer which documents, codes, translations or signatures they need, whether pre-approval is required, and whether orthodontics has age limits or caps.

A typical claim workflow

  1. Confirm your policy's orthodontic benefits and required documents with your insurer.
  2. Attend your consultation; receive findings and a written estimate in English.
  3. If needed, submit the estimate and a doctor's letter for pre-authorization.
  4. Start treatment and keep English receipts for each payment.
  5. Request itemized statements and certificates for each claim period.
  6. Submit to your insurer and keep copies for your records.

In Dr. Lee's practice, patients who plan claims early tend to have a smoother process, because the documents can be prepared to match the insurer's format from the start.

Korean National Health Insurance

Korean NHI generally does not cover orthodontic treatment, except in limited cases such as some cleft-related or surgical orthodontic cases. Most patients pay directly and, where possible, claim from private or overseas insurance. Learn more:

FAQ

Insurance and receipt questions

  • Can I get an English receipt for orthodontic treatment in Seoul?

Yes. Isu Yonsei Baro Orthodontics issues English receipts for payments, and can also prepare itemized statements, medical certificates and doctor's letters. Let us know when you start treatment that you plan to claim so we can prepare documents in the format your insurer prefers.

  • Will my overseas insurance cover braces or Invisalign?

That depends entirely on your policy. Some plans reimburse part of orthodontic fees, often with age limits, waiting periods or lifetime caps; others exclude orthodontics. Ask your insurer directly before starting, and see claiming braces on overseas insurance.

  • Can you include diagnosis or procedure codes?

Ask your insurer exactly which codes or terminology they require and share their form with us. We will tell you what we can include in your documents. Requirements differ by insurer and country, so confirming first avoids rejected claims and repeat requests.

  • How do I request a doctor's letter or medical certificate?

Ask at your appointment, email isu.ysbaro@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp with what your insurer needs. Dr. Lee prepares and reviews these documents herself, so please allow some preparation time, especially before travel or relocation dates.

  • Does Korean National Health Insurance cover orthodontics?

Generally not. Korean NHI typically covers orthodontics only in limited cases, such as some cleft-related or surgical orthodontic cases, with eligibility rules. Confirm your situation at consultation. Read Korean insurance and braces for foreigners.
